Wow, what a busy summer, things have been busy at home with the family. We went to South Carolina for a couple of weeks for a very steamy vacation at Fripp Island. Humidity was very high and three were heat warnings out nearly every day. It made it very tough on the camera equipment, going from the air conditioned inside to the humid outdoors. We had a very cool storm front go through while down there.
I have got to do a little bit of storm chasing up here in Ohio recently. Nothing too severe, although one night there was a tornado reported in Bettsville, Ohio, just 7-8 miles from Fremont, but we had no weather here that would indicate a tornadic storm, and radar showed nothing but what looked like a regular thunder storm. Well, this shows that Mother Nature is very unpredictable and you should be on guard at all times during a severe storm.
We had a scare with or Chocolate Lab Bonnie several weeks ago, she quit eating and had some kind of intestinal track blockage, thanks to her love of dumpster diving. She spent a week at the Fremont Animal hospital and passed her blockage, and seems fine. She still looks and sniffs the trash, (who says lightning never strikes twice!) but we now put it where she can't get it when there is some smelly, taste-tempting treat for a dog in there, and have had no problems since. My Brother Matt's Golden Retriever Tacoma has started to have some seizures and his prognosis is not as good, they seem to have it under control now with medication, but this is said not to be a good long term solution.
Work on the road has been very steady also, and I am starting on a project in Columbus this weekend, a "field of dreams", I have always wanted to venture into...
