This morning our cast iron hot water radiators in our bedroom started to vibrate. My wife awoke to the noise which lasted 15-20 seconds. Here in the state of Ohio we felt a 5.2 magnitude earthquake on April 18 at about 5:38 a.m. EDT. No damage was reported from Ohio. This earthquake was felt across the Midwest and is typical of periodic earthquakes that occasionally strike the region. Unlike California, the geology of the mid-continent allows seismic energy to travel great distances. This earthquake was recorded by the Ohio Seismic Network 290 miles from the epicenter and the energy took one to two minutes to reach Ohio. I now have an earthquake to add to my tornado, hurricanes - I lived through (or slept through) stories...
