On the 35th anniversary of the first tornado I had ever seen, during the Super Outbreak of 1974, I would like to announce my book, "My Perfect Storm". I have recently at the urging of my wife Mary, put together a book "My Perfect Storm" (click here to preview and order) with many of my storm photos from the last 12 years. What started out as a hobby, maybe an obsession, has turned into a love of life and a yearly trip to the Great Plains.
I can't explain in words to people why I love to chase storms, why I like to stand a half mile from a tornado and watch its whirling winds. What it is that makes me stare with awe. It is not the same thing that makes people stare at a train wreck, that is out of revulsion, my staring is out of love and wonder at the natural spectacle that is happening in front of me. I hope this vision I have comes through in the photos of this 132 page book. Feel free to check it out and to order it for yourself or for a friend. It contains photos from the Oklahoma City F5 tornado in 1999. It also contains photos from Hurricane Rita, and most recently the very first EF5 tornado in Greensburg, Kansas in 2007. Each photo in the book has something in it for the reader, just take your time and look and enjoy.
