Apologies to All, But Just Wait, it's Worth It...

I would like to apologize to the people that have been downloading my Diana Lite app and then decide to upgrade to my full "The DIana" app for the Digital Diana camera function. The app has been held up in the iTunes store and should be approved any day. All of the holders of version 1.1 of "The Diana" will get the major upgrade to the new app with the Digital Diana camera function. I encourage you to shoot away, with the app, and then have fun in Photoshop with your images. You can lighten or darken the border or the image, play with the saturation, throw in some blur where you want it, make the image your own.

First "Digital Diana" photos out of the iPhone...

Around six months ago I released an iPhone app called "The Diana". It chronicled the history of the 1950's plastic camera made in Hong Kong. The app also contained a photo of every Diana camera and clone known to exist to date. The app has sold well in the Apple iTunes store. In the next week or so, version 1.2 will be released with the first "Digital Diana" function. Below is one of the first test photos out of the iPhonesphere. This app will allow all of the people that have bought the app in the past to upgrade their app and the new version will have the new features.

A Few New Things in the Works for "The Diana" app...

I have a few new tweaks to my Diana Camera app. that is on sale in the iTunes store HERE. The app. icon that will be on your phone will have a new look, see the above photo. Plus the app will have updated photos, and a new "Digital Diana" photo feature. I am hoping to get the new version released in a few weeks, but is still under construction. With the release of this app, I will also release a "Lite" version of the original app. which will be free. Everyone that has already purchased my Diana app. will get the new features of the "Full" app. since they have already purchased the app for .99 cents. I will keep you informed on the firm release date.

New iPhone Camera is a Fun Art Project...

I got my new iPhone 4 this week and have been impressed with the new camera system, a 5 mega-pixel camera that you can select the focus point and also the point of exposure. We went to the beach yesterday for my son Noah's birthday party, alot of family came to the annual bash. I pointed the camera and shot away. I got some neat photos of my mom and day and the grandkids. I also used a new program I got for the iPhone, Plastic Bullet, which gives your photos the feel of using old, plastic toy cameras, kinda like the Diana cameras I used to collect. Dianas for Christmas, I Spoke Too Soon...

Just a day after I wrote about all of the new Diana cameras on the market, the Lomographic Society issues another one in honor of the Detrich Collection Diana world tour stop in Tokyo, Japan called Tokyo Rising. I write about this one with some pride as my initial collection of Diana cameras works its way around the globe to be viewed by the masses.

A Load of New Dianas for Christmas...

I have been calling in all the favors I can to get my hands on some of the new releases of the Diana camera. Some of the new names come to you in a new, hip, stylish manner like the Nightcap, and the Black Jack. The latest to roll out of the vault at the Lomographic Society is the Chromiac Diana F+. The one I am most proud of finding, with a little help from my friend Jimmy Puh in Singapore and Takuji Kitagawa of Japan is the Scarecrow Man, Diana F+. This one had a very limited release in Japan and is tough as nails to get your hands on, good luck if you want one! I will be photographing all of these and putting them on my Diana page on my website.
